Privacy Policy — Tell Me It's Good

What we collect

When you create an account:

Email address — used to log you in and send a one-time welcome email.
Search history — products you've researched are saved so you can review them later. You can delete any entry from your history at any time.
Pro subscription status — whether your account has an active paid plan.

Whether or not you have an account:

Hashed IP address — stored for rate limiting only (3 free searches per day). We hash the IP before storing so the raw address is never saved. These records expire daily.

We do not collect names, phone numbers, physical addresses, or any other personal information.

How we use it

To authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
To display your saved search history.
To process and manage your Pro subscription via Stripe.
To enforce the free-tier daily search limit by IP.
To send a one-time welcome email when you sign up.

We do not sell your data, run ads, or share your information with third parties except as described below.

Third-party services

We rely on the following services to run the product. Each has its own privacy policy.

Supabase Stores your account, email, and search history in a PostgreSQL database hosted in the US (AWS us-east-1). Supabase handles authentication.

Stripe Processes Pro subscription payments. We never see or store your card details — those go directly to Stripe. Stripe stores your billing information according to their privacy policy.

Anthropic (Claude AI) Runs the product research. When you search for a product, the query is sent to Anthropic's API. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train models by default.

Amazon Associates We include affiliate links to Amazon. If you click a buy link and purchase, we earn a small commission. Amazon may set cookies when you click. This does not affect our research scores.

Vercel Hosts the website and serverless API. Standard server access logs (IP, request path, timestamp) may be retained by Vercel per their data retention policy.

Cookies and storage

We use browser localStorage to keep you signed in between visits (via Supabase Auth). No third-party tracking cookies are set by us. Amazon may set its own cookies when you follow a buy link.

Data retention and deletion

Your account data (email, search history) is retained for as long as your account exists. Daily rate-limit records are deleted automatically after 24 hours.

To delete your account and all associated data, email us at hello@tellmeitsgood.com. We will process the request within 7 days.

Children

This service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
